There are three items of business to discuss. Let's begin.
1. I got my hurr did today. And it was ABOUT time, let me tell you!
Last semester I purchased a groupon to this hair salon in Hillcrest--I figured what better place could there be to make your hair look faaaabulous than the gay community? And boy was it worth it. Not only did my little coupon save me ONE HUNDRED dollars (ahh! still so excited) on the normal cost of my hair-do, it allowed me to have my first real conversation with a drag queen. I figured my stylist in Hillcrest was going to be gay, but when he popped out the line, "Yeah, most of my photos on Facebook are just me in drag...." I knew I was going to be in for a very entertaining three hours of conversation. And from discussions of leather platform boots to photos of different make up styles and wigs, let me tell you I definitely realized I was not in Provo anymore. The whole time I was just praying that he (she?) wouldn't ask me where I did my undergrad. Honestly, the last thing I needed this morning was a oh-my-gosh-you're-Mormon-you-must-hate-gays rant. The whole accusation that I hate gay people has been an incredibly frustrating aspect of living around people who don't know or understand my religion. (Just for the record--I don't hate gay people. I have many gay friends and I think of them just as highly as I do my straight friends. If you would like more details about my views on gays and gay marriage and gay rollerblading or what have you, you can ask me personally as I don't care to make this post a political rant.) Thankfully BYU did not come up, so we were left to talk about his fabulousness until he was fabulously finished and I was able to leave with some incredibly fabulous hair. (100 dollars!! I saved one HUNDRED dollars!!!)
2. Lauren comes to visit me this week! Yay!
3. I'm employed!
Well...kinda. I have a gig for the summer!
This summer, for six weeks, yours truly will be working as the judicial extern for the Honorable Roger Boren, a presiding justice on the 2nd District Court of Appeals in LA.
Aka I get to wear fancy clothes and work in this building:

To say that I'm excited is definitely an understatement.
Basically, I'm going to be writing Justice Boren's opinions for a good chunk of my summer...which is incredibly intimidating yet incredibly exciting.
Also, I get to live at home in Valencia for the whole summer which makes me very very happy.
Let's hope that I actually learned something in Lawyering Skills, right?
4. I have not studied for my Contracts exam on Friday.
Oh wait a minute... that's bad news.
I should probably get to that...
