From Hell to Paradise

It's that time of the semester again folks--Lawyering Skills assignments are due.
Since last semester I almost died completing my memo by the deadline, I have firmly committed myself to not leave the completion of this semester's appellate brief to the last second...mostly because I also have to spend this week studying for my Property midterm on Wednesday. Why I decided to sign up to have my brief due on Thursday--the day right after the midterm--I really could not tell you. Needless to say, this week's gonna be busy. But then again, what else is new?

Also, if the combination of those two assignments was not enough, I also have two interviews this week. Yes, you heard me: TWO. Right smack dab in the middle of the hustle and bustle of my midterm and my brief.
I may just chop my head off.
(And that's saying something when you consider my deathly fear of guillotines.)

However, do not fear, for all this really isn't too bad in the face of what I have coming on Saturday. If you haven't heard what my plans for spring break are yet, let me give you a hint:
And by hint, I mean: Hawaii.

So, in the grand scheme of things, this week is going to suck, but hey, I think it'll be worth it.
Also on the plus side is the fact that in an attempt to make this week not suck as much, I have actually already completed a good portion of my brief (but don't get me wrong, that's not to say I won't still be up all night Wednesday finishing it... I will definitely be pulling yet ANOTHER all-nighter no matter how much I may think I have accomplished beforehand.)

There are times when I think that law school is kind of over-rated and really not half as scary and terrible as people had made me think it was...but then I realize that I now am able to sit on my bed for days and days at a time, literally doing nothing but writing my brief and reading cases as if it's a normal thing to not do anything but work all day. And then I realize that my ability to do so isn't a manifestation of the fact that law school is necessarily easy or manageable--it's really just a manifestation of the fact that it's turning us all into freaks.

Anyway, really, the only thing that matters is that the next time I post, I will be tan.
Hallelujah for that.
And hallelujah for spring break.

...Five days and counting.
