Twenty Two

Yesterday was my birthday. I'm usually a really big birthday person--I love celebrating my friends' birthdays, blowing up balloons, making cakes, etc. This year though, the closer the calendar got to June 9th, the less excited I seemed to be for my "special day." So, while I really didn't seem to care at all about celebrating myself or the fact that I'm another year older, I did love having just one day where people took a little time to show me that they cared about and were thinking of me.

It all started at 12 AM with a text from my dear sweet BFF Ryan. Then, in the morning Brittney and Christy let me wake them up to get IHOP take-out with me. We ate pancakes and other breakfast items and then watched Harry Potter 7--a true Audrey Olson-style morning. Then, sometime in the middle of it all, I opened my front door to find a large box containing a lovely bouquet of flowers from a lovely gentleman. Let's call him "Mr. Charming."

What can I say? I'm a sucker for flowers. So, in total it was a really nice morning. Later in the day I got a massage and then got my nails done with my mom and Christy. After some spa relaxation, we met up with Brittney and went to this adorable little lunch place called "Tea Gardens." It's like Olivia's Dollhouse for adults. If you are in SCV and you are feminine, I highly recommend it.

At night, Lauren came over and brought me what will probably stand as the greatest birthday cake known to all of man-kind. Ladies and gentleman, I present to you, absolute perfection:

Aka: Ryan Gosling.
Yes, that picture is in fondant. As Lauren said, "YOU CAN EAT HIM!!!!!!" Hahaha. So freaking great. Emily then came over that night with some more birthday goodies for me! Everyone sang happy birthday, we had tons of cake, and then Emily and I met up with the Bug Boys and hung out in Hollywood for the rest of the night. On our way back home, Emily and I made a stop at Bob's Big Boy, which I haven't been to in like 6 years. Minus some family drama that naturally bubbled up at the end of the night, my birthday was lovely. And this may be extremely pathetic, but I was so so so happy whenever I got a notification on Facebook from someone wishing me happy birthday. Yeah, I'm a cheeseball. And now I'm also 22.
