Although it had a bit of a rough start, 2011 ended up being such a good year. It's safe to say last January there's no way I could have foreseen everything that ended up happening throughout the year.
January I started my final semester of BYU and saw Dashboard Confessional in Salt Lake again with Lauren from Compton
In February I went to McDonald's for Valentine's Day dinner and then spent President's Day weekend with Emily snowboarding at Sundance and playing monopoly in Park City.
In March I flew down to visit USD and saw Lady Gaga in Salt Lake with Lauren from Compton (my trusty concert companion.)
...and yes, Gaga is as insane as you would think she would be in real life.
In April, I graduated from BYU with my older brother and celebrated dear Emma's wedding.

In May, I rode on the London Eye, french kissed on the Champs-Élysées, saw Dachau, went paragliding over Salzburg, went ziplining in Bern, and viewed Athens from the top of the Acropolis.

In June, I turned 21, met Daniel Radcliffe in New York City, ate at Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, went on the most amazing cruise to Bermuda with Emily, and gained more inside jokes from it all than I think I had in my entire life collectively.

In August, I moved to San Diego, started my first semester of law school, and met a bunch of awesome friends.
In September, I fell in love.

In October, I went to the scaregrounds, carved a pumpkin and occupied Wall Street.
In November, I ate turkey in Disneyland.
In December, I lived in the library for two weeks without showering very much, finished my first semester of law school, and came home to celebrate the holiday season with the people I love.

This New Year's Eve, I'll still get Chinese and go buy a new pair of yellow underwear to wear when the clock strikes twelve (if you want good luck for the new year, you'll do the same), but honestly, my expectations for 2012 are going to be low. With a year like 2011 in the record, they kind of have to be. I mean, come on, how do you top a year like that!? Anyway, goodbye 2011, hello 2012. It'll be nice to meet you, but just so you know, you've got a tough act to follow.
Happy New Year!

I made it on the blog!
ReplyDeleteTWICE! I like my title of trusty concert companion (oh & the whole Lauren from Compton=classic)
you know, I haven't been to a concert since Gaga.
Just not the same without you... :[
