Blink.

Wednesday we had no classes, which meant I got to drive up to Anaheim to spend Thanksgiving in Disneyland with my family. It was weird only having to drive an hour and a half to meet up with them... for the past three Thanksgivings, going home has meant hauling myself over to the hell hole that is the Salt Lake airport and sitting on a two hour flight back to California. But not anymore... all I had to do was to drive a little ways away from my sunny San Diego home (yes, the weather is still sitting nicely in the upper 70s here) to Anaheim and then from there an additional hour up to Valencia. I was free to leave whenever I wanted and my schedule was completely in my hands--just the way I like it. It's so nice to live close to home, really.

So, yes, we spent Thanksgiving day in Disneyland, where we had a fabulous dinner at Club 33. It was fun, but I finally came to the realization that I have been over-exhausting myself when I found myself completely dead, wanting to go home, at about 9 o'clock that night. Keep in mind that I had entered the park around noon that day after sleeping in later than the rest of my siblings, who woke up to enter Disneyland right when it opened. Nonetheless, I trudged it out and we ended up arriving back home at around midnight, where I spent the night sleeping in my bedroom with my beloved cat. To say that I felt relaxed is the biggest understatement of the year.

I came back to San Diego Friday night and enjoyed the rest of my break doing things I enjoy with the people (or person) I love. Note--If you are called to speak in Church on Sunday, and then sleep in and forget to prepare your talk, with intense prayer and inspiration, I testify that it is indeed possible to pull out a fifteen minute talk right on the spot at the pulpit. This may or may not have have happened to me today. But that's another story for another time.

Law school starts up again tomorrow, and even though I'm still stressed out beyond belief in the midst of all the outlining and reading I still have to do, I still feel like this Thanksgiving season in particular I have more to be grateful for than most of my past. It could be the wonderful friends I have made here, the sturdy principles and knowledge I know all this hard work is instilling in me; the angel that makes me feel like the most beautiful person every second I'm with him; the positive family relationships that, once absent, are finally defining themselves; the love and guidance I feel daily from the Savior; and the happiness I feel from the combination of it all. Either that, or I'm just really relieved I finally have caught up on sleep. But, if we're being completely honest here, I'm going to have to say I'm pretty sure it's the former.

Thanksgiving break ended too fast, too soon. Really, I feel like it passed in the blink of an eye. It was so fun though, and it has given me all the more motivation to get through these next weeks and survive finals. The other side is looking oh so good already. Mmmm.

But alas, for now, all thats really left to say is:

Hello, Monday.
